The Judicial Branch Office of Victim Services (OVS) offers advocacy, programs, and services to help crime victims and survivors with the emotional, financial, and many other impacts of crime and to provide support through the criminal justice process.

OVS also operates the statewide Helpline, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm which provides victims and their families with information on the criminal justice process, victim notification, victim rights, and referrals to community and state agencies.

December 3, 2025, 10:00-11:00: National Survivors of Homicide Victims Awareness Month is November 20th through December 20th. It is a month-long effort to inform, influence and impact how society views and responds to murdered victims and their families. In recognition of this particularly challenging time of year for victims of homicide, the CT Judicial Branch Office of Victim Services is honored to host Jessica Pizzano, Director of Victim Services at Survivors of Homicide in Wethersfield, CT. Ms. Pizzano will discuss grief, specific dynamics of grief related to homicide, resources available to surviving family members and friends of victims of homicide, and ways to be helpful and supportive.
