The Connecticut Judicial Branch is
pleased to announce that it will again be sponsoring a program for
senior citizens entitled "Seniors and the Law." The program is scheduled
to occur on Friday, March 7, 2003, at the Geographical Area #17
Courthouse at 131 North Main Street in Bristol. The program will run
from 9:00 a.m. to noon.
The event features such speakers as
Attorney General Richard Blumenthal, Probate Court Administrator James
J. Lawlor, Consumer Protection Commissioner James T. Fleming, Attorney
Sandra Sherlock- White and representatives from the State's Attorney
Office.
Topics scheduled to be addressed
include: fraud and schemes perpetrated on seniors; abuse, neglect and
exploitation of persons 60 years or older; Medicaid fraud and physical
abuse of seniors; and power of attorney, durable power of attorney for
health care, living wills and do-not-resuscitate orders.
All seniors are invited to this free
program. Also, family members and friends of seniors are invited to
attend.
