Speakers will include Chief Justice William J. Sullivan, Chief Judge of the Appellate Court William J. Lavery, and Judge Antoinette L. Dupont, who was among the judges appointed to the Appellate Court in 1983. Judge Dupont, now a Judge Trial Referee, served as Chief Judge of the Appellate Court from 1984 to 1997, when she became a Senior Judge of the Appellate Court.

Other speakers will include Attorney Steven Greenspan, President of the Hartford County Bar Association, and Hartford Attorney Ralph Elliot.

The ceremony will take place in the Appellate Court, which is located at 95 Washington Street, Hartford, on the fourth floor. Cameras have been approved for the ceremony.

Legislation implementing the amendment was passed on June 28, 1983 effective July 1, 1983. Governor William A. O'Neill appointed the original five judges of the court on August 9, 1983, and the Court heard its first cases on October 4, 1983.
