Sarah French Russell is Lecturer in Law and Director of the Arthur Liman Public Interest Program at Yale Law School. She joined Yale Law School in 2007 from the Federal Public Defender’s Office in New Haven where, as an Assistant Federal Defender, she represented indigent clients in federal court at the trial and appellate levels. Ms. Russell clerked for Chief Judge Michael B. Mukasey in the Southern District of New York and for Judge Chester J. Straub on the Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. She earned her B.A., magna cum laude, from Yale College and her J.D. from Yale Law School. Her interests include the problems of access to justice, criminal procedure, sentencing, and gender and equality.
Elizabeth Phillips Marsh is a professor of law at the Quinnipiac University School of Law. She serves as the Director of the Criminal Law and Advocacy Concentration program at Quinnipiac. In addition, she is the Director of the Quinnipiac University School of Law Criminal Justice Trial Advocacy Competition, a nationwide competition that the school hosts with the Criminal Justice Section of the American Bar Association. She entered teaching after serving as an Assistant District Attorney in the office of Robert Morgenthau, District Attorney, New York County (Manhattan). Her classes have included criminal law, federal criminal law, criminal procedure, constitutional law, comparative constitutional law, and evidence. In addition to various law review articles, she is a co-author of the textbook, Haddad, Marsh, Zagel, Meyer, Starkman and Bauer, Criminal Procedure: Cases and Comments, Foundation Press, 6th edition (2003) and the new 7th edition (2008). She is a member of the American Law Institute and she has served as the chair of the American Bar Association Criminal Justice Section committee on the Federal Rules of Evidence and of Criminal Procedure. She graduated from Harvard University (Radcliffe College) magna cum laude with a degree in History and Literature. She earned her J.D. from New York University School of Law. She has also taught at the University of Alabama School of Law, Washington and Lee University School of Law, the University of Bridgeport School of Law, and the Quinnipiac University School of Law program at Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland.
Jane I. Milas is the Managing Director of Garcia & Milas, P.C., where she practices in the areas of construction law, commercial law, wage and hour law, labor law, alternative dispute resolution, real estate law, and products liability law. Jane also serves as an arbitrator in connection with construction and commercial arbitrations.
Ms. Milas has served in a number of committee and officer positions of the New Haven County Bar Association and is presently President-Elect; is a member and past Chairman of the Construction Law Section of the Connecticut Bar Association; and is an active member of the Forum on the Construction Industry and the Surety and Fidelity Law Committee of the Tort Trial and Insurance Practice Section of the American Bar Association. Jane is a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation.
She has lectured on a number of construction-related topics and was named a 2008 Connecticut Super Lawyer® in the area of Construction Litigation by the publishers of Connecticut Magazine and Law & Politics, the selection criteria for which can be found at www.superlawyers.com/connecticut.
Ms. Milas is a graduate of Bryn Mawr College, Northwestern University, and the University of Connecticut School of Law.
