Small Claims Areas to Consolidate in New London Judicial District
HARTFORD - As of March 1, 2001,
the Small Claims Area Office for the New London Judicial District will be located at 112
Broad Street in New London, Judge Joseph H. Pellegrino, Chief Court Administrator of the
State Judicial Branch announced recently.
From that point on, small claim matters will be
made returnable to the New London facility for the towns of Bozrah, Colchester, Franklin,
Griswold, Lebanon, Lisbon, Montville, Norwich, Preston, Salem, Sprague, Voluntown, East
Lyme, Groton, Ledyard, Lyme, New London, North Stonington, Old Lyme, Stonington and
Waterford.
As of March 1, 2001, the Court facility at 1
Courthouse Square in Norwich, GA 21, will no longer accept new small claim writs.
In addition, pursuant to C.G.S. ยง 51-347b,
effective March 1, 2001, all small claims matters filed on January 1, 1996 in GA 21, and
all small claims matters filed on and after September 1, 1997 in the Small Claims Area at
Norwich will be transferred to the Small Claims Area at New London at 112 Broad Street,
New London.
