Statement of Judge Joseph H. Pellegrino, Chief Court Administrator
Re: Courthouse Bomb Threats

I would like to commend Commissioner Leonard C. Boyle, Colonel Edward L. Lynch and the State Police for their outstanding investigation of the recent courthouse bomb threats. I am very pleased to learn that the State Police have arrested an individual in connection with the bomb threat on Dec. 7th to the Waterbury Superior Court.

This bomb threat greatly inconvenienced all of those who had business in the court on Dec. 7th -- members of the public, jurors, litigants, employees and judges. However, it has not deterred our dedicated employees and judges from fulfilling their responsibilities. I am confident that the State Police will continue to make arrests in connection with the bomb threats that our court system has recently experienced.

I would like to reiterate my appreciation for the work that the State Police have put into this investigation. They are an indispensable partner in our efforts to ensure that our courthouses are as safe as possible.
