PRESS ADVISORY: Public Access Task Force
Public Hearings Set For Sept. 7

Members of the public will have the opportunity to address the Connecticut Judicial Branch Public Access Task Force during a public hearing scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 7, 2006, in Memorial Hall of the Supreme Court Building, located at 231 Capitol Ave. in Hartford.

The public hearing is scheduled to go from 2:30-5 p.m., and from 6-8:30 p.m. Click here for Information for Speakers at Public Hearings  (PDF). Please note that if testimony from all speakers ends before 8:30 p.m., the task force may adjourn the hearing earlier than the stated time.

Senior Associate Justice David M. Borden established the task force in May 2006 to make concrete recommendations for the maximum degree of public access to the courts, consistent with the needs of the courts in discharging their core functions of adjudicating and managing cases. Supreme Court Justice Richard N. Palmer chairs the task force.

The full task force has a deadline of Sept. 15, 2006, to submit recommendations to Justice Borden. Committee reports and other information are available at: https://www.jud.ct.gov/external/news/PublicAccess/.
