Public Service Announcement regarding
Child
Support Payments
The Connecticut Judicial
Branch’s Support Enforcement Unit is urging parents who are
delinquent in paying their child support or who have an
outstanding capias (civil) arrest warrant for failing to appear
at Family Support Magistrate Court to call the toll-free Child
Support Call Center at 1-800-228-5437. By doing so, parents can
make arrangements to get back on track with their payments
and/or to turn themselves in to avoid arrest. The center is
open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
The
Support Enforcement Unit is working with state marshals to
arrest parents who have failed to appear in court and have an
outstanding capias warrant. This effort began on Sept. 1, 2006,
after the Judicial Branch approved the temporary doubling of
fees paid to state marshals.
