An Act Concerning the Release, Sale and Accuracy of Conviction Information
P.A. 08-53
was enacted by the Connecticut legislature during its 2008 session and
went into effect on May 1, 2008. It establishes procedures that any consumer
reporting agency, as defined in the act, that issues a report for employment
purposes which includes criminal conviction information obtained from
Connecticut, must follow. These procedures are designed to ensure that the
criminal conviction information reported is complete and up-to-date as of
the date that the report is issued. Any person or consumer reporting agency
that has purchased criminal records from the Judicial Branch must purchase,
on a monthly basis or on such other schedule that the Judicial Branch
establishes, such updated records or information as are available. In

permanently delete any erased records prior to releasing any information
