The Driver’s Privacy
Protection Act, 18 U.S.C. § 2721 et seq., and section 14-10 of the Connecticut
General Statutes authorize the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) to disclose
last known address information contained in its records to licensed attorneys
for use in service of process.
The DMV and the Judicial Branch have
collaborated on a program to offer name and address information from DMV records
to attorneys electronically through Judicial Branch E-services. The service is
available to Connecticut licensed attorneys who are enrolled in E-services upon
accessing the specific E-services link
on the judicial website.
