Notice Regarding E-Mail Scampurporting to come from a Court

Email Scam
Please be advised that phony e-mails purporting to come from state and federal courts have been distributed around the country. These e-mails may carry a virus and recipients should not open any attachment if they receive such an e-mail. The e-mail’s subject line is “Notice to Appear” and it is from “Notice of appearance in court.” Recipients are notified that they have been scheduled to appear at a hearing and it references an attachment for more information.

If you receive an e-mail regarding a court case or matter of which you are unaware, you should contact the Judicial Branch’s Helpdesk at 860-282-6555, before opening any attachments or links.
