Judge Robin L. Wilson

Honorable Robin L. Wilson The Honorable Robin L. Wilson is a 1982 graduate of Connecticut College, where she majored in Government. Upon graduating, she was admitted to Northeastern University School of Law, receiving her Juris Doctor (JD) degree in 1985. She furthered her legal education by obtaining a Master of Laws degree (LL.M.) in 1998 from New York University School of Law.

Judge Wilson's career with the State of Connecticut began in 1985 when she was hired as a legal research clerk for the Office of Legal Research. In 1986 she was appointed an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Connecticut, Office of the Attorney General, where she served in both the Child Support and Workers’ Compensation Departments. In March 1994, former Governor Lowell P. Weicker appointed her as a Workers’ Compensation Administrative Law Judge where she served until being appointed to the bench in 2003.

Nominated by Governor Ned Lamont, Judge Wilson was appointed as a judge of the Appellate Court on January 27, 2025, and she was sworn in on March 6, 2025, after having served as a Superior Court judge since 2003. As a Superior Court judge, Judge Wilson's assignments included the criminal divisions in the Norwalk G.A. and Judicial District of Stamford, Juvenile Matters in Bridgeport and the Child Protection Session in Middletown as well as the civil division in the New Haven Judicial District, and the Judicial District of Waterbury where she presided over one of the Complex Litigation Dockets handling complex civil cases.

In recognition of her influence and leadership, Judge Wilson has been honored as one of the NAACP's 100 Most Influential Blacks in Connecticut and as one of the 100 Women of Color Leadership in the State of Connecticut. Judge Wilson is a longtime parishioner of St. Martin de Porres Church in New Haven. She is actively involved in numerous professional and civic organizations, including the Connecticut Judge’s Association, New Haven County Bar Association, George W. Crawford Black Bar Association, Oliver Ellsworth Inn of Court, New Haven Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Elm City Adult Club of the National Association of Negro Business and Professional Women’s Clubs, Inc., National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc., African American Women's Summit Planning Committee, Knights of Peter Claver Ladies Auxiliary, Council and Court #266, Knights of Peter Claver Ladies of Grace Fourth Degree and the City of New Haven Youth Commission.
